Omega Hish School’s Philosophy of Christian Education sprouts from the Philosophy that passionately drives our Life. By it we believe firmly in the absolute existence of the One and only True God; who is the creator of the Heavens, the Earth and everything (visible and invisible) there between (Gen. 1:1). We believe in His son, Jesus Christ, by whose death and resurrection we obtain redemption from sin and shame. We believe in the guidance of the Holy Spirit the revealer of God’s truth. We believe firmly in the existence of two and only two contrasting kingdoms, one of Light and the other of darkness (John 1:5). We believe these two kingdoms to be mutually exclusive - they cannot coexist as the presence of light inevitably dispels darkness. We believe that God is the light and that He is loving and just. We believe that this light is the way and the truth (John 16:12). We believe that he is the all-knowing source of true Knowledge, therefore the well spring of wisdom and understanding stems from the knowledge of God (Psalm111:10)
We understand education as being a life-long knowledge acquisition process aimed at the transformational growth and development of the spirit, the soul and the body (that is the total Man). We believe that the end of education is the redemption and consequent liberation of man from a fallen state of ignorance and darkness. We believe a thorough Christian Education to be the gateway onto this fountain of liberation and redemption which an earnest yearning of the mortal and immortal essence of every man.
We are persuaded that every child houses within it, the potentials of a grown man and is to be guided, by Christian educators, into unfolding that “man” to portray God’s glory. By this, we believe that there is a learner in every child and that every child is special, is unique and different in its style of learning. We therefore favour an interactive approach, above others, to teaching and impacting true knowledge to the learner.
Being aware of our calling to be Educators and our higher calling to the Christian Educators, we are painstakingly intentional in out interpretation of the Curriculum in the Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts, the ICT, and the Vocational/Entrepreneurial to the intent that it serves as an instrument for transforming the learner into God’s agent of change in the family, the church, the immediate society and the entire globe.
We understand beyond the element of doubt, that we are in Institution conscripted by the one True God with a duty to admit, nurture, tutor, mold and mentor young minds, in partnership with the family, the Church and the Government, until they are built into becoming God’s model-ambassadors here on earth.
We are driven passionately by the desire to GUIDE every young learner that works through our gates into a life that is patterned in GODLINESS (uprightness in all conduct with love for God and man), in a knowledge of UNITY (team spirit, mutual collaboration and support), in INTEGRITY (truthfulness, honesty, zero malpractice), absolute DISCIPLINE (dedication to hard-work, diligence, and impeccable time-management), in EXCELLENCE (an unending drive for outstanding performance) and into SERVICE (giving back to God and humanity), hence the slogan – OHS GUIDES:
OHS guides, tirelessly and unrelentingly, until Christ is formed in the child (Gal. 4:19). OHS guides, within and beyond her gates. OHS never stops guiding and praying for the child, until all seven (7) Spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2 and Rev. 3:1) are made manifest in the child.
In all of these, OHS believes that from the planting of God’s seeds in the heart of the learner, through the watering, into the harvest, it is God that brings the increase/result (1 Cor. 3:6); therefore, without failing OHS returns the glory to God in thanksgiving.
